The Tailies
The first night..The Other came to the beach to get rid of the big who would give them trouble when they took those that were on the list (more on the list later).
And one did cause trouble..Mr. Eko.
The Other managed to get most of the people on the list a few night later. And then Cindy later on..but what about the leftovers?
Ana-Lucia...dead.
Libby...dead.
Mr. Eko...dead.
Bernard...alive.
Only one survivor out of the leftovers. Why Bernard?...Remember..Bernard was the only Tailie to land on the island alive...the others crashed in the ocean.
Why did Bernard survive while those seated net to him survive?
Because he wasn't supposed to be in the tail section. He was seated with Rose in the fuselage section.
The question I have with the 3 dead is this...what part did the play on the island and how it affected things. All 3 played a huge part in the events on the island.
Ana-Lucia killed Goodwin and Shannon. Shannon's death brings up an interesting question..If Shannon were still alive, would Sayid be killing in the future?
Ana-Lucia is that extra Leggo in the box. You can do something with it or just let it be. The island let her be. She played a part that would eventually help Ben in the long run, whether or not he knows this. He did try to kill her for not being a good person.
The last thing she ever does on the island is appear to Mr. Eko in a dream, telling him to help Locke.
Mr. Eko was a killer. And he never felt the need to apologize for it. Mr. Eko was given a task by the island, or some force on the island, to make sure the button in the Hatch gets pushed. Ben had planted the seeds of doubt into Locke's mind which grew to the point where Locke believed the button was a joke. So, Mr. Eko was brought in to replace Locke.
And Mr. Eko failed. Mr. Eko first punishment was the Polar Bear. He was being used as a mere pawn by the island to bring Locke back into the fold.
Then it was Judgment time. Mr. Eko's brother appeared to him, judging him to see if he should be punished or spared. Eko had failed and was of no use any longer. Eko confessed to Yem/Smokey that he had not sinned and had no need for forgiveness. Yemi/Smokey looked ticked at this, but said with disgust "You speak to me as though I were your brother." Was it Eko's arrogance or ignorance that ticked Smokey off more? Whatever the case may be, Eko's dead.
(Eko is a peculiar name. Perhaps a small clue to something larger.)
That leaves us Libby. We know she played a big role off the island. She gave Desmond the boat. But what role did she play on the island?
She saved Hurley's life. Hurley behan to see his ol' imaginary buddy Dan on the island. But, was it really Hugo's crazy head or the another island manifestation? Whatever the case may be, Dave wanted Hurley dead. Enter Libby. Libby comes in, convinces Hurley he's not imagining the whole island and then gives him something to live for.
Then she gets shot by Michael while getting some blankets.
But her saving Hurley was a very important thing. As we have seen now, Hurley has seen Jacob's cabin. (I wonder if he has a ladder in there) Much to the surprise of both Locke and Ben. Hurley is seeing Dead Charlie in the outside world. Hurley is important somehow. Is it the numbers? Maybe. But Hurley is a key player in all of this. Remember, something was trying to stop him from getting on that plane.
